ATM File Transfer Interface
The ATM File Transfer Interface provides an economical solution for expanding your ATM access and services. This interface enables customers to use any network ATM or point-of-sale device to check balances and perform transactions, whether or not your financial institution is a network member. For organizations that are ATM network members, the ATM File Transfer Interface can be used to send batch files of balance information and important status updates, such as reporting a card as lost or stolen, reissuing a new card, changing an address and activating a new or reordered card – directly to the ATM switch.
Information Exchange
With the ATM File Transfer Interface, account information is exchanged between your organization and a remote ATM processor through a secure channel or a data communication line. After each account update in Premier, a single program creates a strip file containing up-to-date information on every account linked to the customer's debit card. This information is sent to the ATM processor, where it is used to authorize ATM transactions and provide customers with current account inquiries. Each time an ATM transaction is completed on the processor's network, your organization receives notification in a standard file format, which is automatically posted to customer accounts. Transactions made at the ATM are entered into Premier automatically, saving processing time and reducing the chance for lost items.
The ATM File Transfer Interface transfers a variety of information to remote ATM processors, including:
- Balance information for up to ten accounts accessed by a debit card
- A variety of balance types (memo available balance, ledger balance,
overdraft options and more)
- Separate balance limits for inquiry and withdrawal purposes
- A list of stolen debit cards and closed accounts
- Information for only accounts active in the last update
- Withdrawal limits for each customer
